Patients who are on long-term medication can request a repeat issue of their prescription.

Please read the following notes before proceeding.

It is important to make sure you always have enough medication, and to order it in advance to ensure you do not run out.

For planning, please allow for weekends and Public Holiday closure etc, details of which are listed in our News section .

Repeat prescriptions can be requested via this website (more below), or by:

  1. post - please enclose a SAE if you would like the prescription to be returned to your home address
  2. email to

  4. hand in your re-order form at the desk

Please provide full name, address, date of birth and daytime contact telephone number plus details of what you need.

We do not to accept prescription requests by telephone.

Repeat prescriptions for HRT, the Contraceptive Pill, and antibiotics will only be issued after consultation with a doctor or nurse - tel 0131 337 2166 to make an appointment. If you are on long term medication you will be invited for regular review.

The doctor may ask to see you before issuing a repeat prescription for medicines not listed above.

When will your prescription be ready?

Your prescription will be ready to be picked up from reception after 4.00pm, two full working days after receipt of your request (working days are Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.00pm).  Please remember to allow for weekends and Public Holiday closure etc, all listed on our NEWS page.  If in doubt about when to collect your prescription, please contact us.

Some local Pharmacies will collect and hold your prescription for you.  If collecting from a Pharmacy we would urge you to ring them at least 2 full working days from now to arrange a date and time to collect as dispensing times vary.
